Imam Ibn Qayyim Al-Jawziyya explains in a beautiful manner in this Book.

In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

By the Time
Verily Man is in loss
Except such as have Faith, and do righteous deeds, and (join together) in the mutual teaching of Truth, and of Patience and Constancy.

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

وَالْعَصْرِ
I swear by the time,

إِنَّ الإِنسَانَ لَفِي خُسْرٍ
Most surely man is in loss,

إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ
Except those who believe and do good, and enjoin on each other truth, and enjoin on each other patience.
